Moe is an awkward and cowardly moose. When two strange children rescue him from his predicament and then find themselves in a dangerous situation, he must decide to overcome his fear and have the courage to rescue the children or let fear overcome him and flee into the forest.

Do you know a child who is easily frightened, or who is a daredevil always pushing his or her limits? Then this is the book for you!

Moe the moose is fearful of every strange sound and creature in the forest. One day, he is startled by unfamiliar noises and runs headlong into the woods without looking where he is going. He runs into a tree and gets his antlers stuck.

Soon, some strange -looking creatures, a boy and a girl, find him and help him out of his predicament.

But later that day, Moe sees the same two creatures climbing up the tallest tree in the area. But they seem to be unaware that the tree is dying and unsafe. Moe watches them climb all the way to the top, only to discover that the branches have broken below them.

As they struggle to get back down, Moe decides he must overcome his fear to help them like they had helped him.

This story teaches children to be more aware of their surroundings so they can distinguish true dangers from fear of the unknown. It cautions children to evaluate a situation before tackling a new challenge. It encourages a willingness to help others when they are in need.
