Oscar the troll sees five children playing in the woods. When one gets left behind and gets trapped in a mud pit, Oscar tries to alert the other children. Then seeing the boy deeply distressed, he decides to help him, but realizes he can’t do it alone. When the other children arrive, it takes all of them working together to save the day.

This story teaches children to be aware and considerate of others. It also demonstrates working together to solve a problem while affirming that different skills and temperaments each have a role and purpose.

The book emphasizes teamwork and how people’s different abilities can be helpful. – Foreword Reviews

Oscar and the Noisy Children is an adventure gone wrong that ends happily and sets a positive example for young readers. – BlueInk Review

Betty Cetas enjoys traveling and has visited many places around the world. She especially loves the log cottage she bought in the remote woods of Finland, where she spent summers with her family and friends, telling fanciful stories of a provincial troll, a shy moose, and an impish fish. She and her husband, and their little dog, Jesse, live most of the year in Tucson, AZ and summer in the woods of northern AZ.
